The AdsML Special Interest Group (AdsML SIG) is a not-for-profit organization founded by its members in 2013 as a successor to the AdsML Consortium. Its goal is to continue maintaining and improving the existing specifications in the AdsML Framework, and thereby secure the investments in AdsML technologies and know-how that have already been made, and enable new ones going forward.
Processes and Membership
Membership of the AdsML SIG consists of individuals with an interest in e-commerce and systems integration in the advertising industry. To be eligible for membership, a person or entity must be nominated by a current member.
One main advantage of the AdsML Consortium, which originally developed the Framework, was that it included a range of different opinions and requirements from organizations with both varying business perspectives and varying local market requirements. One of the guiding aims of the AdsML SIG is to keep that ethos alive. Interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to join the AdsML SIG and help develop the AdsML Framework further. Please use the contact form to get in touch to discuss membership.
The AdsML SIG’s Board of Direcctors meets yearly (phone/Skype) to decide how the AdsML Framework will develop and to vote on approving technical specifications. The AdsML Technical Working Group, responsible for maintenance and new developments in the AdsML Framework specifications, meets as needed, conducting work by conference calls, email and internet based shared workspaces.
